The Metropolitan Police were transitioning from a SAP legacy ERP solution to a shared Oracle ERP Platform 11g with reporting - PSOP (Police Shared Oracle Platform).
My role in this project was as a Senior BI Consultant, it included gathering and recording reporting requirements off of both the business and operational parties.
We had a large reporting catalogue for both the users of the shared service SSCL (Shared Services Connected Limited) to utilise, as well as the personnel from the Met Police.
Covering all possible subject areas and how the out-of-the-box OBIEE solution will meet their business and current reporting needs. We also allowed to opportunity to create further analyses that would help with BAU.
This project was delivered using the Scrum Agile Methodology.
I was part of a SSCL scrum team which consisted of 5 BI consultants and a project manager.
For any requirements that were not met by out-of-the-box OBIEE reports, we would understand the gaps and whether it was achievable to exploit specific data items from the underlying logical model. Or understand the complexities of exploiting it using ODI (Oracle Data Integration).
I carried out the development and implementation using OBIEE & BI Publisher.
Designed and developed Manual interface Extracts using BI reporting which was more flexible in its functionality. Allowing the execution of SQL scripts to create views for extracts to be provided to operational teams and third parties.
Data was reconciled the data between the ERP application and the data warehouse/BI to identify potential defects.
Enforcing report security within OBIEE based on user responsibility by report subject area.
The SSCL and Met Police reporting catalogues were successfully delivered for all subject areas and allowed usage of the new ERP solution. Manual Interface extracts were also provided out from BI publisher.
