The Gloucestershire County Council delivery was a very different to my usual projects. It was required in order to meet SLA's, desktop engineers were overwhelmed with the number of service requests coming through from users during a transition period. This was a refreshing project, as it allowed me to experience something completely new, engage with users in a manner which i hadn't previously but also to gain more of an understanding around hardware and the job roles of other teams within the industry.
My role on this project was as a desktop engineer, this involved setting up phones and laptops for clientele and also ensuring that BAU was running smoothly by helping with an PC/Hardware related issues. The team faced many challenges through my time here which we handled exceptionally well. Challenges i faced during this was Sophos & Windows Patches causing disruption to service and laptop issues and therefore was working through resolving relating issues for 20+ machines per day. Providing great & recognisable customer service on a day-to-day basis.
As a team we successfully worked through the backlog of open tickets from the users, I managed to resolve enough tickets to maintain a steady workload within the team. Therefore we were meeting the SLA's.
